The problem, in two minutes
Why your display might already have a 0% chance of having the rare one.
Every case contains a precise, known number of rare cards: rare manga, parallel SR, SEC, alt art... the details vary by set, but the principle is the same: a given case always contains the same number of these cards, no more, no less.
The problem: nothing stops a reseller from opening this case before you. They buy the full case, open the first displays, keep the rare cards for themselves, then resell the remaining displays on Cardmarket or Vinted, still sealed, as if they were new.
You buy one of these displays at full price. Except it comes from a case that's already been sorted through: the rares are gone. Your odds of finding one are no longer what the publisher announced: they are zero, without you knowing it.
On Unmapped, the case is only opened once the room is full, filmed in one take from start to finish. You keep the same odds as anyone else of getting a rare card, whichever one it is, exactly as intended by the publisher for that case.
The Unmapped solution
1. You join a room
Each room corresponds to a sealed case, not yet opened. It contains 12 displays (One Piece) or 6 displays (Pokémon). You reserve a spot: your card is pre-authorized, never charged at this stage.
2. Opening filmed in one take
Closed parcel, Bandai batch number, factory tape being cut, the 12 displays coming out: every step is filmed in a single take, as soon as the room is full. No display is removed or swapped: it's the case exactly as it arrived from the manufacturer.
3. The video is certified on the blockchain
The opening video is hashed (SHA-256) then timestamped on the blockchain via OpenTimestamps. This timestamp proves the video hasn't been altered afterward, and the exact moment the case was opened.
4. The random draw assigns the displays
Each display is numbered then assigned to a buyer by a random draw, filmed in the same video. No one, including Unmapped, chooses who gets which display.
5. Your display gets its certification sticker
A numbered, tamper-evident holographic sticker is applied to your display. It carries a unique QR code leading to its public certification page (serial number, video, hash, timestamp).
6. Sealed shipping the next day
Your display ships to you sealed, with its sticker intact. If the sticker is peeled off or damaged on arrival, the certification is no longer valid: that's your guarantee no one has touched it.

The certification sticker
Each display receives a numbered holographic sticker (format UM-YYYY-XXXXXX-XXX) placed across the opening of the packaging. It cannot be removed and reapplied without leaving a trace. The QR code printed on it leads to a permanent public page proving the display's origin: opening video, SHA-256 fingerprint of that video, blockchain timestamp (OpenTimestamps) and number assigned by the random draw.
A fair price, every time
The price shown when a room opens never goes up, even if the market spikes while the case is filling up. If that costs us a margin, that's on us, not you. A fair shot at a fair price.
Booster format
What about sealed boosters sold individually?
The rarity odds are exactly the same as any other booster on the market: that's not what changes. What changes is the origin: an Unmapped booster stays tied to one specific case, certified and filmed on opening. A booster bought individually elsewhere has no verifiable origin at all.
There's a well-known trick to sort boosters without ever opening them: weigh each pack or hold it up to the light to spot the thick or foil card inside, set that one aside, then sell the rest as sealed. The pack looks brand new, but it's already been picked through. At Unmapped, every booster goes straight from the closed case to its individual scan and certification, filmed continuously: it never passes through hands that could weigh or sort it before you.
Two ways to get one: straight from stock in the shop, shipped right away with no one to wait for, or by joining a room for a lot of 6 or 12 boosters, with the same random draw mechanic used for displays.
Every booster carries its own serial number and public certification page, exactly like a display.
Frequently asked questions
Do I really have a chance at the rare card?+
Yes. The case is never sorted before opening: you have exactly the same odds as any other buyer in the room, calculated on the actual number of ultra rares per case announced by the publisher.
What is an "unsorted case"?+
It's a case exactly as it left the manufacturer, never opened beforehand. By contrast, a "purged" display comes from a case already opened by a reseller who removed the rarest cards before reselling the rest.
When is my card charged?+
Never before the room is full. Your card is pre-authorized at reservation (like a deposit), then automatically charged only when all 12 (or 6) spots are sold and the case is available.
What happens if the room never fills up?+
Your pre-authorization expires or is cancelled, you're never charged. You can also back out yourself before the room fills up.
How do I verify my display's authenticity?+
Scan the QR code on the sticker: you land on its public certification page with the serial number, the opening video, the SHA-256 hash and the blockchain timestamp.
How can I be sure my booster wasn't sorted without being opened?+
Weight or light sorting leaves no visible trace on a sealed pack, so our guarantee isn't based on how the pack looks, it's based on the video: the case is filmed continuously from the factory seal to each booster's individual scan, so there's no step where anyone could handle it before you.
When do I receive my display?+
It ships sealed the day after the opening. The video link and tracking number arrive together in the shipping confirmation email.
